HSd international representatives
The High School has enjoyed significant success in international sport recently. In the first instance, a Form 5 pupil was selected to represent the Ireland U17 girls' cricket team which played against Scotland in Dublin during the summer. The Cricket Ireland team won the series 4-0 with our pupil featuring among the list of most valuable players. Secondly, a Form 6 pupil was selected for the Ireland U19 Sevens womens' rugby squad which competed in an international tournament in Sheffield for the first time earlier this month. Her team beat Wales Dragons 'B' 29-0, England North 28-5, and Scotland 28-12 to finish in fourth place overall. Finally, a Form 6 pupil represented Ireland in the U18 boys' golf home international series which was played at Forest Pines Golf Club in Lincolnshire. He played his part in securing the first victory for an Ireland team since 2010 by winning singles matches against opponents from Scotland and Wales as well as competing in a victorious fourball match for Ireland against Wales. Congratulations to all of these pupils on their competitive success!
