Oxbridge success

Congratulations to pupils at The High School who were invited to attend interviews as part of the admissions process administered by the variety of constituent colleges which make up the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge.

The pupils concerned - namely, Oisin Faust (6WR – Mathematics - Christ’s College, Cambridge), Saoirse Forde-Morrin (6CA – English – Murray Edwards College, Cambridge), Robin Hayden (6TH – Art History – Christ Church, Oxford), and Jeongun Kim (6WL - Natural Sciences – St John’s College, Cambridge) - applied for admission through the UCAS system in September.  All candidates were required to submit a detailed personal statement (as well as examples of their academic work in some instances) before being selected to attend rigorous one-to-one interviews conducted by highly-qualified subject specialists within the individual colleges. The candidates were prepared for this challenging experience by participating in a series of mock interviews at The High School.

In particular, we should like to offer our warmest congratulations to Oisin Faust (6WR) who received a conditional offer to read Mathematics as an undergraduate at Christ’s College, Cambridge.  It is a significant honour to be selected for this stage of the process and we wish him every success as he enters the highly competitive race for the small number of places on offer to read Mathematics at Cambridge in 2014-15.
