Dublin Senior badminton final

The High School Senior Girls' Badminton team - consisting of Aela O’Flynn, Gráinne Dowling (both 4B), Dearbhla Forde-Morrin (4HE), and Sophie Keating (4M) - reached the final of the Division 1 Dublin Badminton League this week after winning a series of closely-fought qualifying matches against Mount Sackville Secondary School, Holy Faith Secondary School, and Sutton Park School.

The HSD team faced its toughest challenge in competing against a very strong team representing Our Lady’s School in the final of the competition.  Though all four players representing The High School played exceptionally well the team from Our Lady’s School were the eventual winners.  Particular praise must be given to Aela O’Flynn (4B) who played brilliantly and was only narrowly defeated by the Leinster and Ireland Number 1 player at this age grade.
