President's Award walk to Lugnaquilla

On Sunday 6th February, all those participating in the President’s Award climbed Lugnaquilla in County Wicklow. We left the school a 9:30am, accompanied by Mr. Swan, Mr. Cryan, Ms. Toolan and Ms. Levis. The first part of the walk was tough, but everyone managed it eventually. We walked on, but it soon began to snow, and we were forced to stop for a while! After this, we continued on, and stopped for lunch before we attempted the last section, so everyone was refreshed and ready for the climb. When we reached the top, it was covered in snow – perfect for throwing snowballs! We spent a few minutes doing this, as well as taking photos, before turning to go back downhill. We arrived at the buses before 4:00pm, and drove back to school. Everyone was tired, but satisfied. Thanks to all the teachers who came with us!
