Change to winter uniform

Winter uniform must be worn from Monday 20 October until a date to be announced in April. Formal white shirts with the school tie worn neatly up near the collar, shirts tucked in and school jumpers are worn during the winter months. Please make sure you have the necessary items by 20 October. Ties may be purchased from the School Uniform Store (Montrose) or from the school office.

Fireworks

As explosive substances, fireworks (including bangers) are dangerous, illegal and can cause serious injury. Having anything to do with fireworks on the school premises (including possessing them) can lead to suspension from school and other serious sanctions. We ask for your cooperation.
In the past, in Dublin, teenagers have been seriously injured by bangers, resulting in the need for plastic surgery. The pain of such a burn injury must be intense. Because fireworks are illegal in Ireland and there are no checks on standards, many of those on sale are sub-standard and dangerous. If you are setting them off at Halloween at home, please be very careful and use a taper or lighting stick to light them so that they are nowhere near your hands. Never hold a firework while lighting it and never throw it at another person. Don't bend over fireworks while lighting them or if you think they haven't lit properly, as they may explode in your eyes.
Remember the misery caused to thousands of pets, wild animals and birds by the noise of fireworks.

Meeting for Form 1 parents

Reminder that there is a meeting for parents of pupils in Form 1 at 7.30 p.m. on Monday 13 October in the Reynolds Hall. This meeting is to follow up on any policy queries which arise after a few weeks of attendance at school and is also an opportunity to tour the school with the form teacher of the pupil.
