Basketball

Having won many matches the Junior Girls Basketball Team reached the final of the South Dublin Basketball League last week. The opponents were St. Joseph’s, Cluny and it was a very competitive match. After a slow start the High School girls worked hard to cut the deficit to 8 points. Despite the teams best efforts Cluny pulled away in the final quarter to win the game. The girls were awarded several medals and a great performance from Katie Murtagh was rewarded with her receiving the M.V.P. (Most Valuable Player). Well done to all the girls.

Congratulations to Stephen James, Form 1, who has been selected for the Dublin Under 13 team to represent Ireland in the forthcoming international tournament in Liege, Belgium.

Well done also to Julie Kavanagh who has been selected for the Irish Under 16 Cadette squad.

Swimming champions

Laura Martin, Danny Finn and Ian Thom took part in the Irish Long Course Championships held in Limerick University over the May public holiday. Danny and Ian were on the winning relay team and are now national champions in the 4 x 100 Under 18 freestyle event. Well done!
