High School likes it hot!

This year's fifth year play "Some Like it Hot" was an immense success! With an all star cast including Jill Harding, Adam Hurley, Davey Kelleher and Jake O'Brien, they couldn't really go wrong. The accents, stage props, sound effects and costumes were brilliant. The audience really got to know the characters through excellent performances.

From Jake and Davey's dance scene to Ms Milne's cameo appearance in a wheelchair, they kept the audience laughing throughout! All it took was Davey and Adam....oh, excuse me, Daphne and Josephine, in those flattering dresses and the crowd was hooked! The dancers also performed brilliantly and enthusiastically, as did everyone behind the scenes who kept it running smoothly.

Everyone who saw the play went away with a smile on their face, and possibly some disturbing yet hilarious memories of their fellow schoolmates...

So, all in all, I think that High School definitely likes it hot!!!

Katie McCann, 4S

Editor's note - if you didn't read your programme carefully, you might have missed that the 1959 film was adapted for stage by Davey Kelleher and Robert Bradish (student producer of this production) - well done! Well done to Ms Milne and all who helped in any way, too! A great production!!

Science week in the library

This took place from 7 to 14 November and was a huge success. Science books of every type were on display, which delighted the readers with new and interesting facts. The library hosted and interesting display of old scientific equipment placed beside new and expensive gadgets. Everyone had a go at trying to name the different objects as part of the very hard science week quiz - even Mrs Geoghegan! Mr Kelly provided the answers and the committee was able to mark the numerous entries and distribute the great prizes. Thanks to Mrs King for organising the week and to Mr Davies and Mr Kelly.

Well done to the winners - Tom Burke (2H), Graham Mills (2H), Therese Anglim (2H), Rachael Bishop (2H), Nicola Durrant (1C) and Freya Breen (1G).

Operation Christmas Child

Well done to all who contributed - over 250 boxes of presents for children and teenagers in deprived areas of Eastern Europe were collected.
