Animal rights

Over the past few weeks, the students of 2R have been designing and conducting a survey on the DSPCA and animal rights, as part of a CSPE action project. We had been interested by the topic when it was disucssed in class and decided to try to find out more about attitudes and awareness in the school. We drew up a questionnaire and surveyed a sample of 100 students, representing each year group. After analysing the results, we came to some interesting conclusions, such as the finding that 2/3 of those surveyed would bring an abandoned animal to the DSPCA, only 1 out of 5 respondents agree with wearing real fur, and that 1 in 3 respondents believe animals should have the same rights as humans. 2R hope to visit the DSPCA at the beginning of next year to present the results. Thank you to Mr Barry and all those who took part in the survey.
