1st XV cup match v. Skerries

This was a keenly fought cup match which ultimately ended in disappointment for High School's SCT.
Within minutes of the kick off it was apparent that this would be a highly physical match as both teams held nothing back in the contact area. Possession and field position were at a premium as mistakes were few and far between. Skerries missed several early penalty opportunities. Midway through the first half High School took the lead with a converted intercept try. With the score 7-0 going into the second half, Skerries came out determined to score. They passed up opportunities to shoot at goal in favour of line outs close in and their gamble paid off as they scored two unconverted tries to leave the score 7-10 with less than 10 minutes to play. High School pressed hard for an opportunity to score but had little luck.
The match finished 10-7 and the disappointed High School team would like to thank the supporters and coaches for their inspiration throughout.

1st XI hockey cup match

In a match in which everyone played their hearts out, never giving up to the final whistle, we played our best match all season, although we narrowly lost to the current Cup holders Alexandra.
We were only getting into our stride when we were hit by two quick goals by Alex’s Irish international player between the eighth and twelfth minutes, which meant that we were always playing catch-up. However from then on the team lifted its performance and relentlessly kept attacking, constantly threatening.
In the second half, we had 60% possession and were dominating the game. We succeeded in getting four short corners and were unlucky not to convert.
Although we lost, we can be proud of our great team performance and spirit. We are all looking forward to playing for the Plate, and are determined to win it.
On behalf of the team, I would like to thank our captain, Una McSharry, for all her enthusiasm and inspiring words! I would also like to thank Ms S. Jones, for all her hard work and commitment.
