Boys hockey team in Leinster senior cup final
Congratulations to the senior hockey team which beat
Dundalk Grammar School 2-1 to reach the final of the Leinster Senior
Cup. Jonathan Walker and Paul O'Kelly write that it was a close
encounter which ended in victory thanks to great goals from David Meade
and super sub John Willoughby. Dundalk scored one goal but the team
managed to hold off a determined Dundalk attack in the closing stages
with goalkeeper Gareth Carragher making some great saves. The final is
scheduled for Wednesday 5 March in Three Rock at 3.00 p.m. against
either Wesley or St Andrew's.

2nd XI unlucky to lose league final
On Monday 25 February, the Senior IIs headed to Three
Rock for our final. After working hard this season, the team was up for
the challenge and determined to win. We've come a long way since
September and we've all grown really close as a group.
The first half wasn't in our favour and we were 2-0
down at half time. After a motivating talk from Mr Fitzpatrick we went
back out with our heads up, ready for the next half. Within fifteen
minutes we were back in the game with two well deserved goals scored by
Eva Nugent and Aimee Jones O'Connor.
In extra time the team did not back down. Ayesha
Carrim's shot on goal was disallowed as she was just outside the circle.
Wesley then got a breakaway in the last five minutes and scored a goal,
so the result was 3-2 after extra time.
We may not have been victorious and may not have
brought a trophy home, but the friendships formed throughout the season
are something we can all walk away with. We would like to thank Mr
Fitzpatrick for all of his hard work, effort and patience while working
with us. We really appreciate it.
