National poetry day
If you had come to the library on
National Poetry Day (October 6th) you would have seen wonderful
displays, interesting competitions and, of course, the poetry recitals.
It is plain to see that a lot of effort went into this and I would like
to thank Mrs King and the library committee for spending so much time
organising it.

Fair Trade Christmas Fair
Christmas may be weeks away but here’s an
important date for your diary. The High School Fair Trade Christmas Fair
run by Transition Year will this year take place on Saturday 3rd
December in the Reynolds Hall in the school. As usual there will be the
opportunity to purchase a wide range of fairly traded gifts and other
useful items as well as charity gift cards. More information will be
available nearer the date.
Transition Year students who did not attend the meetings last week (on
Thursday or Friday) but who would like to be involved in making the Fair
Trade Fair happen, should see Mrs Pearce (C21) or Mrs Reilly (B4) today
or tomorrow.

Calendar changes - important
Please note that a parent-teacher meeting
will take place on Thursday 10 November for Form 1. School will close a
few minutes early at 3.40 p.m.
Also, on Tuesday 22 November, school will close at 11.55 a.m., not 2.35
p.m. as in the published calendar. This is to facilitate a child
protection briefing under the new guidelines from the Department of
Education & Science, in addition to the staff meetings already
advertised.
