Rollback
Rollback is one of the most accomplished rock bands
to have been formed at The High School in many years.
They are pictured above on one of the days on which they played
one of their own songs ("Girl on the Ground") in assembly recently.
Their music is bright, lively and melodic rock and their performances
are tight, entertaining and well organised, providing a suitable vehicle
for the undoubted musical talent of each member of the band. The band
was formed about two years ago and they practise in one member's house.
They declare U2 and The Strokes as influences but this writer reckons
they have their own distinctive sound. Because they are not all over 18
yet they find it difficult to get gigs, so anyone who knows where they
would be welcome, please let them know!
Parents Association

World Poetry Day
On 4 October Ms Fitzgerald's English class went down to the library
to celebrate Poetry Day. Poems were read out and there was a colourful
display of poems around the room. I would like to thank Mrs King and the
Library Committee for doing a wonderful job in the library and for
spending so much time organising it all. Aislinn Twamley |

German trip
Mr White's Form 3 German class (right)
recently visited the Goethe Institut and the Bretzel Bakery near
Portobello. Below is an account of the visit in German.
