Quiz team in national final

The school quiz team won its All-Ireland semi-final of theIrish Examiner schools quiz competition against Colaise Spioraid Naoimh Bishopstown Co Cork last week.
The team has been victorious in six rounds to date, two in Dublin, two in Tullamore and two in Athlone. It has come through to the final from an entry of 207 schools nationwide.
Its quarter final victory was aired on RTE on Saturday and the semi-final victory will be aired on Saturday 26th May at 18.05 on RTE Radio 1.
The final will take place on Thursday 17 May in RTE against Newbridge College. Well done!

Music Concert

The Music Department is holding its summer concert at 7.30 p.m. on Tuesday May 22nd, entry free.
There will be performances from the orchestra, choir, singers, instrumentalists and bands. Because of the numbers involved this year the concert has been transferred to the Reynolds Hall to accommodate the large audience which will attend.
This has been a very successful evening in the past and all are welcome!

Lost property

Items of clothing and footwear which have been lost may have ended up in Lost Property. The contents of the store will be displayed in A4 after school on Monday 21 May and this is an opportunity for pupils to reclaim their lost belongings.

End of term arrangements

Classes will end for Form 6 on Wednesday 23 May and for Form 3 on Friday 25 May. There will be a meeting for Form 3 last period that day in the Demonstration Theatre. Examinations end for Form 4 on Thursday 31 May and for other Forms on Friday 1 June.

Sports Day & Athletics Championships

The school Sports Day and Athletics Championships will take place next Monday 21 May beginning at 2.35 p.m., weather permitting. School will close at the normal time of 3.55 p.m. and the school bus will depart then. Classes will be released for Sports Day but pupils are expected to remain until 3.55 p.m.. You are strongly encouraged to participate in the many events (some are just for fun!) and to spectate at the ones in which you are not involved.

Bronze medal in athletics

Congratulations on your bronze medal in the High Jump in the East Leinster Athletics Zone competition last week.

Well done to all the girls who played on a tennis team this year, espceially the junior team who won three out of four matches, just narrowly missing a place in the finals. Courts are open certain days this week - check the noticeboard for details.
