Other students in the team included Joelle Grogan, Tamryn Reinecke, Hannah Jennings, Eoin Silke, Fergal O'Connor, Fionn Fitzmaurice, Laura Nelson, Laura Mellor, Jenny Murphy, Alison May, Ciarann Maginn, Faye Simms (lovely cover!). Well done all!

High School RTE broadcast

A selection from the school orchestra and choir (numbers involved in the service were limited by the studio space available) is broadcasting the Christmas morning service this year on RTE 1 at 10.15 a.m.

Carol service

Well done to all members of the choir and orchestra and to those who were involved as readers in the carol service last week. Thanks also to Rev Gourley for the use of Zion Parish Church and to the staff and prefects who organised everything, especially Mrs Reilly, Mrs Hutchinson-Edgar, Miss Garvey, Ms White and Ms Bourke.

European Language Day

As part of the celebrations of European Language Day 2006, Mrs Boyce's 6th year French class entered one of the competitions organised by Leargas. It involved the class dividing into groups and heading into the city centre in order to take photographs of Dublin's changing streetscapes, and to take into account various nationalities of shops integrated into our own society.
Upon returning to the school each group put together a poster including the photos and our own artwork. Three pieces of writing also had to be submitted - in English, Irish and French. Thank you to Mr Flynn and Ms Hearne for helping us to perfect the Irish! Also, thank you to Mrs Boyce for making the whole thing possible.
A group from the class ended up finishing in 3rd place, winning a prize of €200 worth of educational equipment for the school!
