European Language Day
As part of the celebrations of European
Language Day 2006, Mrs Boyce's 6th year French class entered one of the
competitions organised by Leargas. It involved the class dividing into
groups and heading into the city centre in order to take photographs of
Dublin's changing streetscapes, and to take into account various
nationalities of shops integrated into our own society.
Upon returning to the school each group put together a poster including
the photos and our own artwork. Three pieces of writing also had to be
submitted - in English, Irish and French. Thank you to Mr Flynn and Ms
Hearne for helping us to perfect the Irish! Also, thank you to Mrs Boyce
for making the whole thing possible.
A group from the class ended up finishing in 3rd place, winning a prize
of €200 worth of educational equipment for the school! |
