Prize Day
Prize Day took place recently with guest
speaker Lenny Abrahamson. Mr Abrahamson is the director of the
award-winning film "Adam and Paul". In a very entertaining and humourous
speech he spoke about how he had obtained a degree in philosophy in TCD
and about how his career had led him into the film industry.
The Principal congratulated the prize winners and taking the theme of
"Success" invited the audience to challenge our view of national
success. Our successful economy has not necessarily led to a successful
society. Evidence such as the number of homeless, the underfunding of
public services and an increasing materialism was cited.
The choir and orchestra performances were well received and the occasion
concluded with supper. Thanks to all who helped with the occasion.
