Scholarship to NUI Maynooth

Congratulations to Claire Murphy, of Form 6 last year, who was presented with her €1,000 scholarship to NUI Maynooth on 11 November. Claire is studying Psychology. To obtain such a scholarship, over 500 points must be scored in the Leaving Certificate, which places Claire in the top 6% of results nationally. Pictured with Claire is Deputy Principal Mrs J. Geoghegan who attended the ceremony.

Transition Year outing

Sam Fitzpatrick (4OS) and I attended the Compass Transition Year course in the Glencree Centre for Peace and Reconciliation recently. The main focus of the course was the conflict in Northern Ireland and helping to understand it. However, there were other activities also, such as teambuilding games, "walking debates", and exercises about stereotyping. I would like to thank Mrs Hutchinson-Edgar and Mrs Larkin for organising our visit.
