Happy Christmas and a peaceful New YearCarol serviceThanks to all who were involved in preparing for the carol service which took place last week - staff, office staff, choir, orchestra, readers, prefects and everybody else who helped! And a special word of thanks to our catering staff for the lovely supper afterwards!! There were many compliments for the service and all the participants, so well done everybody.
Rock pop show
I suppose anyone outside of 4th year (except those few 5th and 6th years who managed to sneak in) is wondering how the Rock/Pop Show went. I would love to tell you now that the whole thing was flawless and went off without a hitch, but that would be a lie. On the day of the show very few people knew exactly what they were supposed to be doing, this includes the show cast, the soundmen, the lighting men, well nearly everyone! This show could have been the biggest flop of all time, but it wasn’t. At the last minute some of the members of the cast managed to organise a rehearsal in the Reynolds Hall. Thanks to Mrs. Geoghegan for letting us do that! From this point of view, it didn’t look half bad. People seemed to be getting more confident when they got up onto the stage to practice. The sound and lighting were coming along nicely and by the end of the rehearsal everyone was in high spirits. We had a few technical difficulties just before the show, like the mikes suddenly not working etc. but we managed to get passed these problems and the Rock/Pop Show blasted off with fourteen beautiful dancers doing there thing with the theme tune to "Moulin Rouge" in the background. All acts were enjoyed from the soloists to the Nirvana covers band to the dancers, all the way to the big finally, a giant can-can line. I would like to thank on behalf of everyone in the cast, Ms Wakely, Herbie, Scott McNeill, Gus Nwosu, Eoin O’Leary, Craig Rankin, Alan O’Keeffe and everyone else who helped out in anyway we needed it. I personally would also like to thank everyone else in the cast. I had a good laugh working with you. Tycho Armstrong Block Christmas cooking in Home Economics
