National Concert Hall performance
Robert Farhat began his musical studies at the age of four and won an
entrance scholarship to the Royal Irish Academy of Music at the age of nine. He
is an exceptionally talented musician who has won many awards to date.
In August this year he appeared as the guest
performer at the concert of young piano students in Washington DC, USA. He has
performed piano duets publicly with the famous pianist, John O'Conor. On
September 26 2001 he performed at the National Concert Hall as part of the "Young Platform
Series" . During October 2001, Robert was a guest performer on
"The Late Late Show".
Gold medal in the Olympiad
Congratulations to Nicholas Nash who won a gold
medal in the Irish Olympiad in computer programming. Nicholas began programming
when he was about 13 and developed his skills in Transition Year, using the
opportunity of having additional time available to him. He mainly uses C++ and
enjoyed a trip to Finland in July to the International Olympiad as a result of
his success.

Best History student in
Ireland
Des Ryan was awarded
the History Teachers' Association of Ireland medal for the best History paper in
the Leaving Certificate 2000, as decided by the Department of Education. His
History teacher was Miss Patricia Graham.
